Young Mother Experiences Small Miracle in Farmingdale.

Those who believe that dreams can come true and prayers are answered can now look to Lisa Ingui as living proof.

The young West Babylon resident was one of more than 3,000 customers of Estelle’s Dressy Dresses in Farmingdale who had filled out an entry for the store’s “$1,000 Wardrobe” sweepstakes. And though she was on-premises the day of the drawing — and prayed to her departed mother to help her win — she left the store before the winner could be announced. Minutes later, her name was called as the sweepstakes winner; however, it would be days before she knew her prayer had been answered.

“We called her home and left a message for her to get in touch with us,” says Linda Azzam, general manager for Estelle’s Dressy Dresses. When she phoned us a few days later, she broke into tears of joy when she learned we had picked her entry as our sweepstakes winner.” Then, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1st, Lisa got to go on her newly-won shopping spree. “I prayed to be the winner not for myself, but for my daughter to have a prom dress which I couldn’t afford,” she stated happily, “and an angel was listening from above.”

“We wanted to make some lucky woman’s dream come true,” says Estelle Rosenthal, who with her husband Marty has grown a family-run business into America’s largest discount retailer of dressy dresses. “All of us were delighted to help Lisa’s dream come true for her daughter.”

Founded in 1992, Estelle’s Dressy Dresses is best known for wedding gowns, shoes, jewelry, and of course, dressy dresses. Today, with117 employees and 205 dressing rooms, the store features more than 100,000 individual retail items in one location, and draws from 8,000-10,000 customers a week from all over Long Island, and as far away as Brooklyn and Queens. While prom dresses, bridal gowns, as well as wedding and party clothes remaining the company’s mainstay, Estelle’s has added a huge selection of misses, junior, petites, and plus-size clothing for women in recent years, many of them one-of-a-kind and leading designer labels, as well as children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.

The store on Route 110 in Farmingdale, south of the Long Island Expressway, is the company’s only retail location. More information about Estelle’s Dressy Dresses can be found on the company’s website at www.estellesdressydresses.com or by calling 631-420-0890.
