Making women look beautiful is her business so it was only natural for Estelle Rosenthal Schlossberg to embrace a campaign to make sure that women safeguard their true beauty - their health. Before she was done, Estelle helped to raise more than $266,000 and was honored by the American Heart Association this year for fund raising and bringing awareness of heart disease to women on Long Island. She has worked tirelessly to promote the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Campaign through her company, Estelle’s Dressy Dresses, and privately. Since 1992 when she founded Estelle’s Dressy Dresses on Route 110 in Farmingdale, she has served more than 340,00 women. It was her goal to reach women with the message that heart disease is the number one cause of death among women.

Estelle’s concern for the community is deeply entrenched in her day-to-day activities and her business. When she found out that the Adelante of Suffolk County scholarship winners needed formal clothing for the award ceremony, she not only gave 12 students formal dresses and suits, she also provided them with a float to ride upon in the annual Hispanic Day parade. She provides the clothing for more than 350 charitable fashion shows each year, including more than 100 public and private schools, dozens of churches, libraries, colleges and universities.

Estelle participates in many organizations including Adopt-A-Highway, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, Chabad of Huntington, Coalition Against Breast Cancer, Long Island Association, Long Island Federation of Women’s Clubs, The Cancer Center for Kids, Women of Substance Ministries and Women’s Club of Huntington Township. In 2004, she was named one of the top 50 women in business by the Long Island Business News and received a proclamation honoring her for her community service from the Suffolk County Executives office.

World travel is one of her favorite hobbies. She has visited Europe, South America and took part in the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary. She enjoys traveling to fashion markets throughout the United States and abroad to seek out new and unique styles to bring back to Long Island where she settled with her family more than 35 years ago.

Estelle enjoys crossword puzzles, cooking and entertaining. With a reputation as a gracious hostess, invitations to her parties are well sought after by the Long Island community.

Estelle and her husband Marty have been married for 44 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
